Placing the Blame

“I’m gonna die, ain’t I?!”

“Shut up, stupid.”

“I’ll say.  Vash, you need to can it before someone decides to eat you.  Like her…”

“But!  But Meryl!  I’m soooo hungry!!!”

“I know!  They won’t give us any decent food, and what’s worse, we hafta endure abuse, on top of it all!  They just want me DEAD!!!”

“Oh, woe is me!!!”

“No!  Woe is us!”

“Yes!  Woe is-“

Crash, smack!  “Shut up, I said.”

Milly Thompson leaned over to peek around Astharoshe Asran, wincing when she saw that both men were now nursing head wounds.  “Wow!  What a right hook!” she said in surprise.

Meryl Stryfe stared at the two incredulously.  “Are you two sure you’re not related?” she asked skeptically.

Her only answer was two identical groans of pain.

“Tovarish…  Why are you being so mean?” Abel Nightroad moaned, rubbing his bleeding cranium.

She scoffed and smacked him again.  “Because this is all your fault, idiot,” she answered disdainfully.  “All because of you.  And that idiot blond, too.”  She threw Meryl and Milly a sharp look.  “Gotta problem with my placing the blame?”

Before Milly could respond, Meryl shook her head.  “Nope, trust me, you pinned it quite accurately, actually.  It is Vash’s fault,” she stated unrepentantly.
Heh. Just a crossover idea my sister and I came up with after watching an episode of Trigun and realizing how disturbingly similar Vash and Abel are... -_-'

Edit:

Summary: To hold a gun is one thing; to hold the lives of people in your hands is entirely different. Peace may be something completely unattainable. Eventual VashxAbel Story told in snippets.

Okay, so I decided I'm gonna write this story in snippets. Each of them will have a point, so... Here.

... This must be continued. It's too good to waste. And they are similar! Abel's clumsy, Vash's forgetful, and both refuse to be proper heroes! Yeah, I need to find out what happens next.
