BC Drabble - Arana 2My name?  My name is Anahita.  My name is Arana, Anath, Calypso and Cain.  My name is strength, age, hope and anger, love like Aphrodite, rage like Lyssa, pain like Baalat.  My name is timeless and pure, it is full of vigor and energy, passion and life.  It is like the bloody Kali who steps on her husband in fury.

But I have no name.  I am merely... Human.
BC Drabble - Arana and SvenI heard the singing sometime in the dead of night, when everyone else was asleep.  It's tune was lilting, almost encouraging, but I just had this feeling... like there was some sort of great sorrow to it.

I climbed out of bed and tiptoed down the hall, stopping near the end where it opened into the living room.  On the other side of the wall, I could make it out clearly now.  Arana was singing, surrounded by candles lit and placed on every available surface.

I'm still fussing about lighting. I'm basically learning all this on my own. But I figured I'd show you guys what I've been up to. Mainly, coloring this:

This is still a WIP, and the lineart is not mine. I am just coloring cuz the artist said it was okay. Thank you for being generous, =Kiwi-Ch4n!

I like the striking colors and the very comic book like style of the framing. It brings them together as a whole and gives me a sense of urgent need from the whole group.

After studying it for a few minutes I could see that you can very easily turn this into a scene of sorrow.

I would have added a bit more shading to places like the irises & under the hair, even a touch of shading or a second tone of the same color through the hair, to deepen the perspective, but over all this is a great picture. :-)
